Windward Half Marathon
The Windward Half Marathon is October 1st at 6:00 a.m. Deadline for entry that includes at T-shirt is coming up quick on September 16.
This race is an excellent opportunity to test your speed on a nice flat course. New sponsors this year include the Boys and Girls Club, Windward Clubhouse which operates out of Kailua Intermediate School. Also signed on as sponsors are Castle Medical Center and Fleet Feet Sports of Kailua.
One change is the start/finish, which will be at Kailua Intermediate School. However, the course itself remains the same as in the past. There is also a 5K and keiki runs of 1 mile and 100 yards, plus a stroller division for the half marathon and 5K.
Applications should be available at most local running stores and at www.active.com
Anyone can register manually for the Windward 1/2 Marathon up until Sepember 30 (the day before race day). Late applications should be dropped off at either Boca Hawaii on Cooke Street or Fleet Feet Sports in Kailua to ensure getting a number.
