The race is pau! That's Hawaiian for finished. It was a great race with a lot of Aloha. We were fortunate to have the Hawaiian blessing of rain (and wind) at certain times throughout the race. This pleased some H.U.R.T. people because according to those who marked the trail on Friday, the course was just way too dry. As we say, "We wouldn't want this to be easy!"
In all seriousness, we appreciate the participants for all their efforts, the volunteers, and all of the support we received in order to make this race a great success! There will be some truly great stories that will be told from the race. If you are still in Hawaii, we hope to see you at the dinner tonight.

First of all I want to thank Big John for allowing me to participate in the 8th annual HURT 100. After an 8 month layoff and thoughts of never running again. I began training for the HURT just 2 months before the race. It took the death of a very special young man that I coached for many years to snap me out of my funk, and get my butt back out doing what I had encouragd others to do for years. The HURT has special meaning to me personally, as one of the founders and an avid runner, this race and this place have always been a mental sanctuary for me and the HURT Horseman who had this crazy idea and brought it to fruition. I had a great time running with all my friends from all over, the race has continued to be run by people who truly love running and it shows. Although I only completed 27 miles the entire journey was great as if any of you has visited Akabill's photo album on line I had this stupid grin on my face each time he took my picture, actually I don't think it left my face the entire time I was running. I love this race, this place and the people. I'll be back next year with every intention of going the full 100m
