Hardrock Entrants Posted--Only 1 from Hawaii

The Hardrock 100 drawing was held today and only one Hawaii runner is on the Accepted Runners list. Cheryl Loomis, Ed Bugarin, and Jeff Huff unfortunately are well down the wait list. The Hawaii runner who got in?? None other than 2008 H.U.R.T. 100 winner and Maui resident, Paul Hopwood. Congratulations to Paul!

I think based on results--his running results, he will do well at Hardrock. Thinking outloud--Paul ran his first H.U.R.T. 100 in 2007 and ran with the Women's winner, Krissy Moehl throughout the race. Krissy was the first place woman at the 2007 Hardrock race and also set a record course record for women. Hmmm, wonder if Krissy would be willing and available to pace Paul???

The Hardrock entry is pretty tough. Especially for first time entrants. Bob Murphy got lucky a couple of years ago. Even last year's overall winner and current record holder, Scott Jurek is on the waitlist.
