Aloha Athletes !
In a couple of hours (10:00 am) Paul Sibley will be starting from Aloha Tower on an epic run for cancer awareness to honor a young boy from Louisiana stricken with cancer. Paul's run starts with a 135 mile, around Oahu, Perimeter run and with only a few hours rest, will finish with him doing the Honolulu Marathon with the 25,000 or so Honolulu Marathoners. Paul's run is called the Trevor 160 Challenge. This is very exciting for me, as Paul is not only a good friend but is also a cancer survivor. Go Paul ! Don

great work Paul,,,we all hope you are well and rested.

Spectacular effort, Paul! Fingers crossed that the lab results come out fine, marathon or not...

12:30 p.m. just talked with Paul and they have pulled the plug at mile 84 with Paul having symptoms of Rhabdo again. An agreement he made with Courtney to stop if symptoms occurred. Courtney will take him into Queens to get some labs run. Great effort Paul. He did say if all is OK with labs, he intends to go out for the marathon.

Just to add to what Harald said they had some rough spots through the night. Usual things like staying awake, chaffing etc. Moving a bit slower. If any of you can get out on the Waianae Coast and support them, I know they would appreciate it.

Update from Paul's team: Paul, Brian, and Eddie are closing in on Kaena Point and everybody's in good spirits. Let's hope the weather cooperates a little longer!

Just talked with Brian Wilson (at 4:15p.m.) who is with Paul. They are doing great-ahead of schedule. Just heading down Kaneohe Bay Drive by Aikahi Shopping Center. Paul actually started at 9 a.m. vs what his original schedule said of 10 a.m.

Oh, and for those of us who don't have their hands (?) full yet this weekend, why don't we go out and jog/walk a couple of miles with Paul today or tomorrow? His schedule for the perimeter portion of his run can be found by clicking on the map on
