Wowee! What an incredible journey! To battle through the physical and mental adversity on such a big stage is truly inspiring. You had most of the state of Nebraska cheering for you. Darcy started to worry late in the race, but not me. Marian is too tough and too determined, she'll cross that finish line. Knowing people like you, Marian, is the best part of ultrarunning.

Big time Congrats!

Marian,

I have always looked to you for inspiration, determination, strength, wisdom and courage. Your WS is just an affirmation of all of these rare qualities. Whenever I have bad moments (not only on the trail, but in life) I think about how you would handle them and, ultimately, I survive.

Thanks, Marian, for showing me the way. Much aloha, Lars

Marian:

You inspire me like no one else has. I always think of the first time I ever ran with the HURT crew. You and Gill were at Peacock Flats and you wipped my butt even with a terrible flu.

I am so proud of you and Gill! I am going to do the HURT this year and you are the one that makes me believe I can do it. Thanks for being an inspiration for all of us!

Marian,

Thanks for the wonderful report on a very tough day. Even though you thought your attitude was bad, I bet you put on a brave, smiling game face. You have such great energy that inspires those near to you and us who live far away. Enjoy your buckle and your accomplishment.

Hi Marian, Thanks so much for writing this and sharing of your experience. You showed us your strength by continuing on and finishing under conditions that many of us would have quit. Heck I was whining about my neuromas during a little 10k trail run yesterday. Finishing the race is one heck of an accomplishment. Learning about yourself and digging deep like you did is something you will always have. Great job. We are all proud of you. Aloha, Bob Mc.

Has been and always will be one of my favorite and most inspiring ultra runners. Great report.

Marian,

Great story, great determination, and great effort. You are to be commended. I am extremely proud of your execution.... heck I would have dropped early on with the neuroma issue. You have made us all so proud of your effort. WS, as we all may not be the most difficult 100, but we all know it is the most important and you performed nearly flawlessly, for that you should be proud. I'm in awe of your determination and effort. Job well done.

Much aloha,

Huff
