Nice report, Bob. As someone who's done two 50s at Superior and an attempt at the 100 in 2008 (DNF at 85 miles), it's always fun to get the perspective of a newby. A lot of people don't realize what beautiful and challenging runs we have up in Northern Minnesota.

The woman with the Irish accent was Helen Lavin, a very accomplished ultra runner from these parts. At Superior, she supported the 100 mile runners all day the first day, got up and ran the marathon the second day (1st woman, 3rd overall), and went back out to help the 50 and 100 mile runners after.

Good points Murph, but you forgot #7: always pile on two ladies to recover quickly! Wait, that's Rex on Hogsback. But I'm sure it'll work. And #8: if shakey, have someone place your feet on their...never mind, just ask Steve how to recover on this point.

Should create an ultrarunner survival guide with this info!

Congrats!
