By popular demand and due to all the recent wet weather, it is back to Peacock this weekend.
A leisurely 7:00 a.m. start at the usual parking/meeting place. Build your training plan around and bring the water and nutrition you need.

Don't think I'm going to be joining you all after all. Now I know why no one jumped on the opportunity to take the newbie (me) around the HURT 100 course. New guys can be painfully slow!
In my defense I was hiking, not running, wearing hiking boots & probably close to a 30lb pack but it took me 3 hours to get to the parking lot by the Restaurant by Manoa Falls and I've got a feeling that the Paradise Park parking lot was another half mile or so beyond that. I skipped the Nuuanu out and back and it took me 3 hours after dark to get back to my vehicle. Looks like I've got a long, long ways to go.
I have an even deeper appreciation and just an inkling of an idea what many of you accomplish in that race and I'm in awe. 1st goal is to just complete a full lap then I'll go from there. Hope to be good enough to join you some day.
Thanks for all the inspiration!

Rob,
This would be the parking lot in front of the control tower at the far end of the airfield. (Not where the skydivers park).
For pace and distance...everyone runs at their own pace. There should be several groups heading out, so you should be able to find a group doing a pace of your liking. And of course, you can always do an "out and back" whenever you're ready to turn around.

If you're open to having a newbie join the group can someone give me a little more specifics on the meeting place. I'm assuming Dillingham Airfield Parking Lot from other posts but not sure exactly where the parking lot is unless you're talking where the skydivers park. From the satellite google map I see another parking lot at the far end of the field. Is that it?
Perhaps the better first question is what kind of mileage/pace are you going to be doing because I might not be anywhere near your league yet.

If anyone is available and willing to join me on the nature center trail tomorrow afternoon (Friday Feb 5th) I only have to put in a half day at the office and was wanting to get out and start getting familiar with the course in hopes of running in 2012. Thanks for entertaining questions from a new guy.
Robert
