Run For George Trail Race
The HURT Run For George is this weekend!

Run For George course preview

Want to check out the "Run For George" course?  There will be a group of us meeting at the Sunset Beach Elementary School this Saturday, 5/19 at 7 AM.  We will be running the soon-to-be-famous "Run For George" loop.  It's an awesome single track course that's mostly in the shade, with awesome views of the North Shore surf breaks.  The course is just over 8.5 miles, so if you want, you can run it twice (or three times if you really want).  Cruise pace...probably take us about 2 hours to complete the course.  Plenty of time left in the day to get in some paddling too.  Because, remember, the Paddle For George is the day after the  Run For George.  It's going to be a George-apalooza weekend!  There are a number of us who will be participating in both events.  Many of us have completed biathalons and triathalons, but this is your first opportunity to participate in a George-apalooza-thon!

Hi Steve. My husband and I meet you and George in November when we were in Hawaii and we would love to send money for George's medical bills. We would like George's address. We were hoping to come back to visit in May but we are in the middle of selling our house so wont make it. This would be muchly appreciated thanks. Shawn & Judy Frisby

Will the course be marked?

I plan on being there. I've been wanting to run there for awhile. - Doug R.

Kevin, the weekly runs are just show up and run. The races are not free, but they provide the best value that you will find in Hawaii for just about anything. Look at the HURT Hot Topics section of the website at the top left of the page and there is a link to the 2012 HURT Trail Race Schedule. The dates, times, costs, and locations are all listed there. Aloha and welcome to Hawaii!

Is this a show up and run group, or a pay to run type group? I just moved here and looking for a group to run with.

cheryl can hang with me and Heather .

I'll be there - I would never miss a chance to go out on these awesome trails! I'm still not running yet, so I'll either do a shorter course or will take longer than 2 hrs. Thanks Steve!
