Pete was my friend. I will miss him. Pete had a quick wit coupled with a touch of sarcasm. When I've asked him how he was doing, many times he would say : "If I was any better, I'd be you !" It wasn't unusual for Pete to be standing beside his car at a trailhead at 9 or 10 pm, with 2-3 hot pizzas sitting on the hood, just waiting for a bunch of us to appear. He never asked or expected anything in return. Several of us (Bob McAllaster, Bob Murphy. Rex Vlcek and Cheryl Loomis) were lucky to be "Pizza Pete's" friends. Certainly Pete was my friend ! I already miss him ! Don

Pete was always happy to be out on the trail ..and when it got tough, Pete could make it easier with his humor...
