This Saturday we will be hiking the Manana Trail (Na Ala Hele) out to the summit and back.
Trail Length: 6 mi.
Terrain: Open ridgeline
Elevation: 1700 ft
The hike will begin at the end of Komo Mai Drive at 6:45 a.m. Park in the neighborhood, but please be respectful and quiet. Bring fluids, snacks, and sun protection.
An alternative group will be headed out to Peacock Flats again. Some will start at 4:00 am at the bottom of long road and others will start at 6:00 am at the airfield. Do as much or as little as you like. Bring fluids, snacks, and sun protection.

I am so jealous,
we visited Hawaii in 2008 and have always wanted to go back.
I really did not want to go home, I could have stayed.

FYI , timewise, the round trip to the summit and back is about four and a half to five and a half hours at a good pace. It has some of the best views on this island.
