Thanks Bob. That's the map I used for reference and page 2 of the orgiginal map has all of the trail names, so it was easy to navigate. I even parked and started down the road by the houses and it still comes to a little over 7 miles per loop.

I ran this course and verified lap time with mileage on my GPS. Additionally, when you use the "follow roads" function in MMR, it is never 60% off; a watch may be different. It is far short of 50K. The entire loop is approximately 7 miles, which even with error, MMR wouldn't be three miles off. Garmin Connect, Strava, Mapmyrun and even Google Earth are all similar when you CREATE a route, and when verified against a GPS, within .05 miles of each other (and yes, they account for elevation in the distance calculation). I'll be the first to admit I didn't run a sub 10 minute mile to complete this loop. It really isn't a true 50K. It's barely a 36K. Sorry to sound negative, but it gives a false sense of accomplishment.

Brian, the link was to show people how to get to the Nature Center. It was not a map of the trail. Here is a link showing the course. It does not have trail names or much marking on it. Hope that helps. Aloha, Bob

Aloha Everyone!

Course map link: yes, I have tried it earlier and it didn't work for me either. I think the link is broken. Can someone please fix it? I'd like to study the course for next year so that I don't get lost. I'm a guy, I get lost easily and hate to ask for directions.

Mapmyrun: I find that MMR is accurately not accurate for about 60% of time. It says that I ran over 28 miles in a marathon one time. There's been many times that it had short changed me on many miles of a course that I run very often and have measured it with my car. Now, I just use MMR to log all my training runs.

When mapped (Mapmyrun and GarminConnect) and ran, this loop only comes to 7.21 miles. I followed your pdf map and comes short of 50K to only 36K (21.63 miles). Is there an addition not shown on the map?

What is the elevation gain on this race? Is it 2,000 or 6,000?

Hi Myra, if you are still having a problem email me ( and I can send you a pdf file of the course.

Adrienne Ziegler

Yeah, so I emailed the race director on July 25th to let her know I wasn't going to be able to do the race and to offer my slot to someone else and never got back to me.

My business schedule has picked up and as much as I would like to, have to admit that I can not physically be in two or three places simultaneously.

I am really disappointed that the director did not respond to my email - and have been so busy, did not do further follow up. Had tried to give enough advance notice so someone else could get my bib# and enjoy the race.

Here's a Bing Maps link. Maybe that will work for you Myra.

Who knew? The water tank park has a name: Baker Park.

Hi Myra,

You can copy and paste the link below into your browser:

Myra, I posted this for Heather earlier today. I just tried it and it worked for me. It opens Google Maps. Not sure why you would not be able to open it? Aloha, Bob

Hi Rosie, the coursemap link is not working, not sure if its me..?
