Mauricio Returns with Photos

Mauricio stopped by the Planet Sun kiosk around lunch time today to drop off photos he had taken at the Plain 100. It was great to see him and he looked very good for just having finished one of the tougher 100 mile races. He was in uniform with boots and walking great. He shared some of his adventure with me, however I am hoping he will put his experience into words so all of us can enjoy it.

I loved looking at these photos. Brought back some good memories of a cold and wet time I once had out on some of these same trails. Looks a bit sunnier and dustier from what I remember.

Congratulations Mauricio--# 3 100-mile finish for the year!! Enjoy the photos--click here.

I learned my lesson. Fly direct. Fly direct. Fly direct. But, Huffer and I still had fun. We almost didn't make the last flight home....

Race report to follow soon. Promise!

Like Rex commented...WOW ! Most Hawaii ultrarunners don't know how tough the Plain 100 really is. It was only a few years ago that anyone had finished it. Now, Jeff has finished it 3 times and we had 3 for 3 Hawaii finishers this year...4 for 4 if you include Jamie Gifford, who is definitely HURT family, so we need to include him. When you see these guys, bow to them and give them the respect they deserve. This is a MAJOR accomplishment !...not just another 100 miler. We do need to give a couple of them some help in scheduling flights to the mainland, in the future.

Walking great?? Guess I'll see you at Niketown Run Club tonight! Congratulations!!

Me too Rob; 2009? Nice job guys, looks like some stiff climbs. A great romp through my home state.

Oh man, I really want to do this race now. If only I could keep up with you speed demons.
